When residents need to dispose of items that are too large for the regular trash trucks to accommodate, they can ask for bulk collection of up to seven items per request. The Department of Public Works will pick the items up on the next scheduled collection day. Acceptable items include household furniture, appliances, hot water heaters, mattresses, bed frames, tree limbs and tires. Items that will not be picked up include renovation materials, plate glass, construction debris, tree stumps, and hazardous waste. The DPW only collects items at single residences or apartments with three or fewer units.
