D.C. man found dead in SUV
Officers found 28-year-old Emanuel William Palmer, of the 2300 block of Good Hope Road SE in Washington dead in the driver's seat of a Chevrolet Suburban. He had a gunshot wound to the upper body, Tippett said.

17-year-old charged as adult in July slaying of D.C. man
After 10 p.m. July 20, Dews left his home, in the 2900 block of Seventh Street SE, for a two-block walk to the King Discount store. Dews broke his hands defending himself against two men who approached him on bicycles, police said.

In that incident, a man was found fatally stabbed at First and Halley Streets SE. The victim's identity was withheld until relatives could be notified. The address is just east of the Anacostia Freeway and Bolling Air Force Base.
